Biography: |
| | In my former life I was an computer science, mathematics and art teacher in Surrey, Coquitlam, North Delta and Vancouver. Now I paint and draw for my own personal satisfaction.
I enjoy lifedrawing, sketching, and photography and will paint almost anything that strikes my fancy. Some of my subjects come from my strolls around the inlet into Rocky Point park, others from lifedrawing sessions or photos of something that "spoke to me".
Art is never perfect, unlike the solution to a mathematical equation! There is always a new challenge to meet and something new to see in a different light. |
|
Professional Organizations: |
| | In January 2010 I was admitted to the Federation of Canadian Artists as an active Member. |
|
Shows: |
| | I will be exhibiting 4 paintings at the Port Moody Art Association show Nov. 4,5,6, 2011 at the Port Moody Rec Centre.
The portrait "Eye Insight" won an Award of Excellence at the Figurative Show in Federation Gallery on Granville Island.
The painting Oceans Edge was exhibited at the Landscape Show, Federation Gallery, Granville Island.
The painting "Misty Morning on the Inlet" was in the Small, Smaller, Smallest show at the Federation Gallery.(2010)
The abstract painting "Inescapable Facts" was in the Abstract Show at the Federation Gallery.(2010)
The painting "Echinacea" was on exhibit at the Blossoms show at the Federation Gallery.(2010)
Three paintings were on exhibit at the Outlet Gallery in Port Coquitlam.(2010)
I exhibited with Suite ’E’ Lifedrawing at the Place des Arts in March 2010. |
|
Instruction and Workshops: |
| | In 2009 I attended my second painting workshop with Mike Svob in White Rock and had a great time. I also attended a five day color theory workshop with "The Color Institute" through Maiwa, and a fabric workshop called "Invented Fabric" in which I had a fun time doing various treatments to fabric surfaces.
In April 2010 I attended a color workshop called "Colour on the Couch" at the Fibre in the Forest conference. |
